Creating Own Brand

Our product is focused in the food and drink industry because we are designing and new unique milkshake company. We want to beat our competition Frijj milkshake by making something that will consider the customer and also give them more variety. We looked at how we could do this by listing ideas and seeing which ones would seem the most efficient, some of the things listed where things like crazy flavours and crazy designs and also a version of our milkshake for lactose intolerant people.

The product name we decided on is called "Phin Phat". The bottle design will be different from any other milkshake bottle design because it'll be a beer bottle design but not the colours of a beer bottle, the colours will be vibrant and bright for each different flavour, the bottle itself is plastic, it'll have a twist cap following the beer bottle concept and near the bottom will be the PH number plus the character design and a little whisk ball to assist the user to shake before drinking.. We also thought about maybe adding a "PH" scale to each bottle from 1 to 14 and depending on how high calories and fat it is the higher the number and it that number will be enlarged so the user can see it clearly. So from the previous explanation you can probably see that the Phin shakes are going to be healthier than the Phat shakes and will be clearly stated with the scale and the change of the name on the bottle. We've have been thinking of many flavours that will be nice and also unique for our shakes and also how they can be designed differently and each bottle e.g. ingredients characters. These are the flavours we've chosen

  • Blueberry pie
  • Pancakes and syrup
  • Rhubarb and custard
  • Vanilla cheesecake
  • Banoffee pie
  • Treacle tart
  • Tiramisu
  • Strawberry sundae
  • Banana split
  • Apple strudle
  • Fruit trifle
  • White chocolate muffin
  • Egg custard tart
These will all have there own personal bottle colours and character designs to give each bottle a authentic look instead of a dull continuous colour on each bottle.

PHINPHAT ADVERTISEMENT STRATEGY'S

Advertisement is a key for a successful product, with the amount of competition out there you have to get it right. We have the option of numerous sources to advertise to our audience and we should take advantage of this. The milkshake market is fairly large and being unique amongst others is what makes your product stand out. We've discussed a number of media sources we can advertise through that would be most effective on our target audience of age 10 - 19. After further research, we found that other similar products get success by actively getting involved with their audience, for example - competitions to win your own flavour and this is something we would like to implement into our own marketing strategy's.

TELEVISION ADVERTISEMENT

For our television advert we could have short and interesting commercials, aiming to try and bring people to go to our Facebook and Twitter to find out more - by doing this we could quickly gain an audience to get feedback from. The advert itself could be some motion graphics in the same style of our products logo design, which was based off Roy Lichtenstein's work. We could implement our idea of having a 'PH' scale but for how healthy our milkshakes are, which is our USP. Television being a costly thing we would have to try an aim it towards younger people as they're our target audience. We could play it at the breaks of children's television programs to maximise our potential sales.

INTERNET ADVERTISEMENT

With the internet and social networking becoming ever more popular, it has become an ideal place to advertise on. Such as Facebook, we could have our own product page for people to 'Like' and follow. Through this we can communicate to our audience and see what they would like to see. We could benefit through this by gaining new ideas for new flavours and overall get more involved - as opposed to being more distant company making decision on what we like, rather than the consumers them-self. Advertising on the internet is an easy process, we could have web banners made and could be placed on relevant sites to our product to attract customers. For example, YouTube holds allot of people in our target audience and with some appealing animations and with contemporary product appearance, it would be a great way of promoting ourself.

Furthermore, we could have our own domain as a way of promoting us and act as a product catalogue. With today's technologies, features such as Flash games and other interactivity are possible - which would encourage people to spend more time on the website. One possible idea would be to allow users to choose their side, Phin or Phat? You decide. Small features like this bring the community together more and sales could increase through the likes of 'word of mouth advertising'. A modern and enticing looking website is something we would aim to create and here is a quick mock up of our design scheme:
